About Me

Cinematographer. Filmmaker. Storyteller. 

My name is Jason Liu . I am a  graduate of Ramapo College. I studied Communications Arts with a Digital Filmmaking concentration. 

 

Currently I work at StrixMedia. I edit promos and advertisements. Recently I worked at DIJII which I digitized photo prints and edited them.

 

 I had a part time job at Croom Video Service. I edited promo videos, live events, scholarship videos,  and church service to broadcast on cablevision public acces. I also transfered video tapes /audio tapes /records to digital files and Disc duplications.  I edited videos for clients. For example church service that was broadcasted on  Public Access, Promo videos for companies, and  Scholarship videos .

 

I have worked on a few film, set as  PA.  I was a PA on Absynthia a TV Show. In 2016 I was a PA on the set of The New Roommate. In 2012 I volunteer on the set of Halfbrother. My responsibility on set was to setting up and breaking down film equipment,  Slating,Boom Op and  Assist on set.

 

I interned at  Manhattan Place Entertainment in 2015. Some clients that we worked with are ESPN/ Grantland, NBA, Disney Channel, Jill Scott etc. During the shoot days my responsibility is to Set up and Breakdown camera, lighting and film equipment, assist on set and running errands. On the days not on the shoots I do administrative work like transcoding footage, doing editing logs, maintain and troubleshoot film equipment booking hotel rooms and film equipment.

 

I also interned at Push to Walk in 2014. Push to Walk is a gym for people with spinal injuries to work out with a trainer. I was the videographer and editor. I filmed the clients work outs  and events and edited them together for the website.

 

In 2012 I volunteered on a feature length film set of the movie Half Brother as a PA. I helped out setting up and breaking down equipment, working with talent, organize paperwork, maintaining craft service, distributing paperwork, and assist wherever they are needed during production.

 

My Short documentary won the Best Documentary Student Film Award.  This documentary is an exploration of body image and our relationship with our image and how the mirror distorts our view of our selves.
